Festival of Beltane

Beltane lays on May 1st marking the beginning of summer. Also the second of our fire festivals, spanning the space between Ostara and Litha. Historically, Beltane involved lighting bonfires for protection and prosperity, driving cattle between fires, and marking the shift toward agricultural abundance.

The celebration of Beltane is notice of the growth and life blooming around us, the first step in celebration Beltane is to go outside.

Beltane is the sabbath of flowers, fertility and the earth in full growth. In this ritual we will take time to appreciate each part of our blossoming world.

During each step keep the intentions of appreciating the world and is growth, breathe deeply and find the joy in each moment.

Collect your supplies :

Pick wild flowers— a Beltane offering

Collect a few stones that speak to you— altar decor

Gather fallen twigs —a small fire

Fill a jar with water — to charge under the sun

On you have collected your items and filled you jar find a safe, dry place or a fire proof container. fill with your sticks building a a pyre of your liking. adorn the pyre with a few flowers, place more flowers around the outside of your pyre. Adding the rocks in a pattern that feeds your being. Light your pyre safely, pass walk around your burning pyre, allow for the abundance to pour into your being. ( allow for your pyre to burn out if safe or snuff it out)

Find a patch of grass — stand barefoot for 5 minutes; ground and breathe. When you are ready to end your ritual thank the earth beneath you for all its givin to you and carry you new growth into the season of abundance.

When picking flowers for this ritual remember its not about perfect flower its about what is growing near you in full. A small bunch placed on your altar or even left outside as an offering.
